Elephant soaps are made from organic sunflower oil, organic fair trade coconut oil, and organic fair trade Shea butter. Fair trade ensures that the people who harvest and grow the ingredients make a ''Fair'' profit for their work. Shea Butter and Coconut Oil come from a company called Agbanga Karite, work to empower women, many of whom are living in poverty. All ingredients are chosen based on their benefits to the skin and made into soap in Wisconsin.

What’s in Elephant Soap? Elephant soap contains organic sunflower oil, which means it is rich in the antioxidant vitamin E. Antioxidants are not only good for your skin they are also important in maintaining the quality of the soap. There is a generous portion of organic fair trade Shea butter from West Africa. West African and East African Shea butter are very beneficial to the skin, but West African Shea butter is usually a little higher in vitamins A and E. Both Shea butters make an excellent natural moisturizer and is actually better than cocoa butter for your skin. Lastly, Elephant soap contains organic fair trade coconut oil, which is moisturizing to the skin and adds nice lather to the soap. The Fair trade organic coconut oil in Elephant soap comes from Africa, benefiting the same women who pick and process the Shea butter!

About Handmade soap: Virtually all soaps, are made using lye (sodium hydroxide), even the glycerin, in glycerin soap is derived using lye. Lye helps turn oils into soap, a process called saponification! All handmade soaps are naturally rich in glycerin, which means it attracts moisture to the skin, Most factory made soaps are stripped of their glycerin to be used in products such as lotion. Handmade soaps are also great for people with sensitive skin.
Elephant Soap has a unique slightly wrinkly texture on the outer edges, reminiscent of Elephant skin.

Many people who have tried Elephant soap noticed its quality right away. Even my eight year old step-brother was impressed by how soft it made his skin.

Natural or unscented Elephant soap comes in 4 oz. bars, and has a very pleasant natural subtle scent.
